Blackpool Airport – Transition Manager
Blackpool Airport Operations Ltd and Blackpool Council have recently gone through a procurement exercise to decide upon their preferred route for managing and operating Blackpool Airport.
The option selected is the transfer of the Aerodrome and Air navigation Service Provider licenses (from the current holders of the management contract) to BAOL.
In order to facilitate the smooth transition we are looking to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified individual to work on behalf of the board and Council to both project manage and lead and do much of the work required to carry out the transfer and drive the airport forward following the successful transfer of those licences.
Further resource will be available to employ consultancy support if required along with the existing airport staff. Though it should be noted the two key managers currently work for the management contract holders from whom the licences are being transferred.
We anticipate that the majority of the work will be focused on the Air Navigation/Traffic Control side of this work so appropriate experience from any candidate would include: –
- Essential to have experience of working with the CAA
- Experience of leading in an Air Traffic Control environment
- Essential to have senior management experience within an airport
- Ideally experience of transferring licences at another location
- Project Management Skills
We would see this as a short term contract with remuneration appropriate to the experience of the candidate.
Immediate availability is also essential with a requirement to devote significant time to this role over the next 6 months.
As time if of the essence applicants will be considered for immediate interview over the next 2 weeks whereupon this opportunity will close.
If you are interested please send a cover letter and CV to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday 5th March 2021.
